Sayonara Mickey Mouse!

Tonight we closed another chapter in our journey.  The Disney Chapter.  Phew!  Disney is a wonderful place where you walk 10+ miles a day with children who may or may not be in the best of moods.  Disney is a right of passage though.  You really should do it whenever you can.  Wherever you can.  We have now done California 2x, Florida, and Japan.  D.O.N.E.

I noticed something today as we wandered around from ride to ride.  Fiona has outgrown Disney and Mackenzie may never.  Fiona is more of a thrill seeker and doesn't seem to feel the magic that Disney once showed her.  She loves roller coasters and losing her equilibrium.  It's funny because she is our more grounded child.  Mack is more of an action girl, but likes predictable rides that don't make her scared.  Go figure.  Brian and I earned our Mickey ears of gold this trip trying to find balance between the two.  We love that we were able to give them the gift of Disney in Japan.  It has been a neat way to celebrate the adventures we have been on.

Today we started in Tomorrowland.  Fiona and Brian hit Space Mountain first and Mack and I did Star Tours.  Fiona said that Space Mountain is different (slower) than the other ones she had ridden.  I think we rode every ride in the park. We ate lots of fries and burgers, ice cream, pop corn, and cotton-candy flavored churros (ew...but Mack loved).  I found salad in a cup which when I say it makes me think of pizza in a cup from the movie, The Jerk.  We made the most of every minute.  Brian slid in as a single rider on Splash Mountain as we were leaving tonight.  One more for the road.  Oh, and we did convince Mack to go on that one as her brave ride today.  She shook in her boots the whole time in anticipation of the big drop.

Tomorrow we will check out and head to Shinjuku for our last bit of city craziness before we journey home to our quiet life. Mack is beside herself excited to visit Harujuku.  She envisions squishies hanging from trees and Kawaii girls everywhere.  This is what she has been waiting for.  I am dreading buying her a 2000 yen squishy but I know it has to happen.  Fiona and I are excited to get our fashion fix again.  I am hoping to do a tiny bit more shopping if we can find a deal.  We'll never find deals like Cambodia again.

OK, this mom is tired.  I'm always alone in the dark hotel room typing away each night.  I love that part though.  It's nice to re-hash the day and keep track of what we've been doing so it doesn't get all jumbled together.  Here are the few pictures I took today.

Adorable babies here in Japan!

More tiny doors!

Mickey shaped foam soap comes out of the dispenser!  We had no idea until a nice lady showed us!

This is The Haunted Mansion!  It's strange that it doesn't have a real building.
It's scaffolding and tarps.

We got trapped by the parade.  I'm not a parade fan but the lights were nice to enjoy for a bit.

Train nap.
