Happy Easter!

I can't figure it out.  Why on Earth is Universal Japan the place for Happy Easter in June?  Honestly, Fiona and I were baffled.  The super happy people who work on the rides in the little kid area consistently said Happy Easter.  The items for sale in the shop- Happy Easter.  The welcome sign- Happy Easter.  I'm sure the tchotchkes they sell are not celebrating the resurrection of Christ...Hmm.  That one leaves me wondering still.  Nevertheless, another fun day was had by all of us. Another fun day of begging one member of our travel party to go on a ride.  Luckily the rain didn't come until late afternoon.

Some interesting observations from today.
  • There is way too much American food at Universal.  I am officially sick of fried food.  I was hoping for a different kind of food.  No vegetarian options really.  I ate the left-over fries from the girls for lunch.  We did manage to find some potato/leek soup thanks to Harry Potter.
  • If you want pasta, you can have it served over an omelet and drizzled with pasta sauce.
  • There are two types of background "white noise" selections played in the bathrooms.  One is a loud raining sound to help cover any embarrassing sounds one might make.  The other is the sound of something plopping into water.  I kid you not.  Mack and I enjoyed our time in the bathroom listening to the plopping noise cheering us on.
  •  Fiona and I have decided that we adore Japanese fashion.  It's fun to have a tween buddy to eye-spy the cute couture with. We both want a pair of wide legged pants that we see everywhere here.  We both also know that they aren't very "Kauai" and we should probably not buy a pair.
  • The last thing I observed today...and I'll close with this. Fiona is absolutely the best sister in the world.  I mentioned yesterday that theme parks are very hard for Mack.  Fiona is right there giving her deep compression breaks, holding her hand, riding the silly kid rides that Fiona has long ago outgrown, and carrying her on her back when here feet hurt.  I am so proud to be her mom and so proud to share her with this world. Sayonara!  Dotonbori here we come!
