I have taken 7 trips up and down our 149 steps today. I have kept 2 girls busy and happy and out of the tree house as much as possible so Daddy could be sick in a quiet house.
We had 7-11 food for breakfast and sat on the beach to eat it. It was a glassy, calm, and beautiful morning. We were expecting rain, so this was a nice surprise. We were greeted by a fluffy beach-dog who was very interested in Mackenzie's donut. He was the first of many animal encounters we would have today. I feel like animals are attracted to us for some reason. It's nice because I can get Mack to do things if she knows we are going to see an animal along the way (or be handed some type of sugary food).
After breakfast we went back up to the tree house to prepare for a swim in the calm Andaman Sea. By the time we got ready and back down, the onshore winds had changed our serene swim into a little more mixed-up which Mack hated. Darn! I can't figure out why she is so afraid to swim here. The water is so warm and the waves so small. Anyway, we decided to head back up the stairs for a pool swim. Mind you, the pool is another set of stairs above our tree house. At least we found the kitties on the way up. They will usually follow us all the way up.

We checked in on Daddy and found him asleep in bed. We set out for lunch. Found a restaurant with "American" food and they had Connect 4 games on the tables. We had pretty good food and the girls were happy as can be.
After lunch we decided to buy some little tubies for the girls to use in the surf. The lady in the shop tried to scam me! I pointed at the small tubie and she said 400 baht! That's just over $12. She followed me down the street lowering the price to 300 baht. Ignored her and found some for way less and away we went. Back up the steps. Checked on Dad. Still in bed. Then headed back out for another beach visit. Sadly just as we left, the rains headed in. It poured on us. We had to find cover at a restaurant and wait it out. While we waited, we realized that the lady standing near us was holding a Slow Loris. It was adorable. I wasn't able to take a picture of it because that was her business venture. Photos holding this little creature. Google it and say awww:) That's what we did. Googled until we found a creature that looked like what she was holding.
We swam until Mack was too scared, and until the lifeguard blew his whistle and kicked everyone out of the water. The storm was coming back. It sure did. We made it back up the stairs to our tree house just in time. Then rain, wind and waiting.
Dinner had to wait for the storm to break. I wasn't all that hungry after our big lunch. I'm a bit over having 3 restaurant meals a day. Today is our 19th wedding anniversary. I would dine tonight without my other half, but would have two special dates instead. Oh, and a bat flying around the restaurant.

It was a great day. Mack was stable and happy today. The girls grooved together. That was nice because we were all worried about Daddy and felt guilty having fun without him. I bought him the remedies he needs to get better today and he has one more day of rest before we head back to an airport hotel in preparation for our transfer to Cambodia. Please, let's do a collective finger crossing that he is better in the morning.
Just a few photos taken along the way today...
