Last Day in Osaka

Today started at 4:00 in the morning.  I haven't been sleeping well but was dozing when Mack woke Fiona in a not so friendly way.  Once Mack is up, we're all up.  The hard part is that nothing is open really until 7 so we are stuck in our hotel for a long time until we can feed them.

We roamed around Namba looking for breakfast.  And. Well. We ended up at McDonald's again.  Pancakes and sausage muffins seem to keep the crew happy.  I am feeling like I am on a huge salt overload so the sweet pancakes tasted pretty good.

After breakfast, we hopped on the train and headed to Osaka Castle. It was beautiful and not what our girls had envisioned when they heard "castle". We had read a few travel blogs that mentioned that the paid tour of the inside of the castle wasn't really worth the money.  We opted to just save the money and roam the grounds.  Plus, we were dragging that crying blonde child behind us and I'd rather do that for free.  It was nice to find some trees and a little more nature after being in the crowded city for a few days.

We headed back to Dotonbori for dinner.  The same restaurant we ate at last night.  Fi was happy.  She was a brave eater today.  We had some udon today near the castle.  It was another hole in the wall place with a line down the sidewalk.  Brian loved his curry udon...Fi and I, not so much.  I'm not a meat eater and this tasted like smoked meat. But, she tried it.  That's all we asked.  She has also mastered chopsticks which is great.  Now...getting Mackenzie to do the same so we don't have to feed her. Tomorrow morning we leave for Kyoto.  We have an airbnb this time.  I'm looking forward to the new adventure. Mata ashitane!
