Today I woke up before the blackout curtains. It was the first day we set an alarm. We had a 2:15 departure of our ferry to Martha's Vineyard and we had a 4 hour drive ahead of us. Luckily the girls were in a good mood and we were out of our room by 7:00. The car rental transaction was interesting. Once we were on the road, all was good. Until we took a bit of a detour and ended up in New Jersey. We quickly found our way again and then made it through New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and finally to Massachusetts. Goodness the view in MA is very different from the view in the city.
The shuttle picked us up in Woods Hole and we had about a 45 minute ride to the island. The last time we were here there was a big storm. Our travel over today was in the sunshine. I actually had a tank top on without a sweater for a while. It was a nice ride. Lots of dogs for Mack to look at on the ship. There was also a car being ferried over that had its alarm blaring. Why set an alarm on a ferry?
We are staying in the same hotel as last time (Madison Inn) and its too adorable. Nice people and they even have ice cream sandwiches in the freezer. That is a gold star in Mack's book. It was a pretty easy travel day. No glasses exploded. No one peed on the wall in front of my kids. Perhaps our bonus trip to New Jersey was the most excitement for the day.
Today was just a day of wandering...
We enjoyed the sunset from the boat harbor. It felt so good to be by the ocean. It was cool like fall. Some people are still in shorts here but I can feel the crisp air as compared to fall for me!
Dinner took us to Offshore Ale Co. where Mack would down a whole lotta ribs. It was a good end to the day. We are all tired. Tomorrow, we will explore some more. Mack's hoping for the alpaca farm!
