A morning of sleeping in again! I know my idea of sleeping in is different than some of you. Nevertheless, I think I love blackout curtains.
After rounding up our children this morning, we trekked across town to a super cute bakery. Tatte. It’s Yiddish for Daddy. They had beautiful pastries and lots of patrons. I’m not really a pastry for breakfast person, but my chocolate rose bun and my savory scone weren’t too bad. The amazing cobblestone streets and adorable Halloween decorations weren’t too bad either!
After breakfast we wandered through Boston Common…which.I.love! We were partly looking at the area and partly looking for a public restroom. They are hard to come by in the city. I get it. There is a large homeless population in big cities and public bathrooms can be problematic. But, for puppy-bladder people like me- necessary. We counted squirrels, video’d funny ducks, and just had a good time walking around this dreamy city.
The tour was great and longer than a little sister was hoping. We learned lots about the school and walked around with a group for about 45 minutes. Fiona is in love with this area. I think seeing the campus, the students, and hearing our student tour guide talk about college made her excited about this next phase. She’s only a junior so she has some time to really figure out what she wants. I mentioned before that this is so far away from home…but also, I love it here.
After the tour we did a few stops. Muji, Trader Joe’s, and Copley Square to name a few. The girls and I had a candy bar for lunch at 4 which was pretty awesome and headed back to the hotel for a 20 minute rest before heading out for dinner and a cannoli from famous Mike’s Pastry.
