emo bushes , parking tickets, cliffs, and driving

I started this blog 3 days ago. We had some struggles with connectivity and also some struggles with our blogger being interested in blogging late at night.

We have done some big travel days. A few days ago we went from Belfast to Inishmicatreer which was about 180 miles, and today we traveled from Inishmicatreer to Portmagee which is 190 miles. We have spent many hours in the car and seen some really amazing things along the way.

First we headed out to see Brian’s cousin and his wife out near Galway. Conrad and Annika live in Inishmicatreer and have a dreamy country life. Mack got to have a temporary dog, two cats, and two silkie chickens. She was in heaven.

The last few days are a bit of a blur so this post will be pictures mostly.

The Giants Causeway is made of amazing interlocking columns made from volcanic fissures. Very beautiful hike down to see them.

The Dark Hedges (Mack said Emo Bushes) were used in the filming of Game of Thrones.

Brunch in Belfast before we set off…

The tastiest porridge ever

Lunch in Derry. Finding parking was way too easy. Maybe because you can’t park where we parked which we found out when we got back to the car. Now we navigate payment.

Conrad and Annika’s place. I didn’t get a picture of their sweet dog, Kai.

Dinner in an awesome Irish pub.

Headed to Ashford Castle and enjoyed their garden.

Glassilaun Beach

We always find a cat. This handsome gentleman lived at the beach.

Our Final stop today was The Cliffs of Moher

We have had some long travel days. We had to return and replace our car today because the engine light came on. What a hassle. Can’t risk standing in the middle of Nowhere, Ireland waiting for road service.
We have a very cute house for the night. Tomorrow we will do The Skellig Michael tour if the weather and tides permit.
