Glasgow to Belfast

We made it to Ireland today. It was a pretty long travel day even if the flight was only 40 minutes. We started the day with a quick run back to Glasgow Cathedral and then back to finish packing. Uber picked us up a bit before 11 and we headed to the airport. There was a delay which meant there would also be a lunch delay and that’s not good news when you’re traveling with bears. Got a couple bags of chips and sat for a little longer than expected, but really not that long. The pictures are a little out of order but I’m going to be okay with that today.

(Glasgow cathedral was the first Anglican cathedral to offer same sex marriages in the UK.)

We rented a car at the airport because we are starting the next part of our road trip adventure. We managed the roads much better this time and found the Airbnb easily. We are pretty close to the airport. It’s quite different here but the place is pretty nice and will be great for our one night stay.

We wandered out at about 5 to go in search of a few sights and most importantly some late lunch turned dinner. This was not an easy task. We found a very busy area full of pub crawlers. The music was loud, crowds were big, and smoke was plentiful. Both girls were completely overwhelmed. I think Brian and I would have been able to find a corner and grab a bite but it was way too much for them. So, we found a Five Guys in a family friendly shopping area, had some food, and made our way back to our place. Saw a couple things along the way and had a few moments of wondering about the safety of the areas we went through. Overall, a nice afternoon and all were ready to rest and plan for the next part of the journey.

Now it’s tea time and I have a couple pieces of shortbread. I plan to finish this early tonight and gets some sleep. There is a pub across the street.  I think I’m tired enough to ignore it. We’ll see!
