One Lane Roads and a Highland Coo

We had a later start today. I stayed up so late last night waiting for the laundry to dry. Have you ever used a washer-dryer in one? They don’t really dry the clothes. I got a load of hot, damp clothes at 11:30 last night so I blame my late sleep this morning on that. Anyway…late start and great breakfast at a local spot called Birch. The mango overnight oats were amazing!

Mack wasn’t feeling quite herself today. These trips can be pretty overwhelming for her. We decided that maybe she should stay home and watch movies all day. She seemed okay with it, so off we went.
We headed to Quiraing for a beautiful hike. It was a little bit of a challenge going up with my healing lungs, but we took breaks and all went well. The breeze was cold, there were sheep grazing near the trail, and as we got higher, the clouds got lower. By the end of our attempt, we were completely in the clouds and had zero visibility. I was totally fine with turning around. Got some beautiful views in before they were hidden.

We also got to see a “Highland Coo” at one of our stops. I got a great video of her chomping grass, but struggled to get a good photo. So furry and cute,

Lunch was late today after google maps decided to make us drive the same road twice. Along the way we had a few frustrations with another driver and funny thing about karma. They arrived at The Hungry Gull at the same time we did after they waved us to pass them. We went inside and found that we were the last people to be seated for the day. They got in line behind us and were refused a table. Those petty-little-beautiful things. Lunch was delicious. Saw a cute dog. Made me miss Frank.

We ended the day with a walk around Portree where we are staying. It reminds me so much of Martha’s Vineyard here. Things close early! Our goal tomorrow after our morning hike is to make the 10-3 window for the thrift store here! Goals! Here are a few shots of this adorable town. Next, bed!  Until tomorrow…
